1776 Roadmap

The village of Kennoway is situated in the Parish of Kennoway and lies a mile north of Windygates and two miles north-west of Leven.

It once had malting and brewing industries. When these declined, the village became less important.

Road improvements and new industry in the form of weaving and shoe-making led to renewed growth in the nineteenth century.

Kennoway was designated a conservation area in 1977.

The village now has an Industrial Estate, playing fields, a primary school, a community centre and a bowling green. There is a stone quarry nearby.
