Robert Mercer of Newton of Forgandenny

Robert Mercer

Robert married Helen Chisholm in 1524.

They had three sons and a daughter:

	James Mercer of Clevage
	William Mercer (c.1526-1605) d.s.p.
	Andrew Mercer
	Elizabeth Mercer (married William Hay of Gourdie. Will dated 06/Jun/1569.)

Robert received a Charter for Ochtertyre and Balcraig in Forfarshire on 18/Nov/1524 and for Carnebo-Stewart on 18/Mar/1534

On 03/May/1544 he sold Carnebo as Robert of Newton of Forgandenny.

Robert died in 1547.

Helen Chisholm

Helen was the widow of James Oliphant and daughter of Edmond Chisholm of Cromlix by Janet Drummond of Coldoch.

Helen Chisholm, styled of Newton and Dalgetty in the "Book of Drummond," married, 1st, James Oliphant, by whom she had three daughters. She was the youngest daughter of Edmond Chisholm of Cromlix, by his second wife, Janet Drummond of Coldoch.
