Other Facts:

bulletIllegitimate (Father's name not recorded on Birth Certificate)
bulletInterestingly she was named as Isabella Mercer Burgess, not Burgess Mercer, on the Marriage Certificate so whether she changed it round for some reason I don't know, but my Gran's sister Isabella Mercer Burgess Bogie was named after her in 1892.
bulletThey may have met through Mercer family ties because in 1891 James Hepburn was a lodger at Rosie Street, Wemyss in the household of Stephen Peggie and his wife Janet Mercer, Isabella's Aunt. The John Hepburn also living in the same house was James's uncle.

Died:

bulletDate: 17/Sep/1947
